A Spiritual Awakening.
Walking through the woods, I stumbled upon the shedded bark of a SugarBerry tree. It was a moment of inspiration, knowing I had something special to create. The texture of the bark was rich and smooth, perfect for painting on an ancient-looking canvas. I considered the possibilities, wanting to create something worthy of this special find! I immediately thought about the treasures of the Church- icons with their richness of colors and textures of old. Thrilled at the discovery, the thought of creating a real sense of depth and spiritual history in my artwork was not just a find; it was the beginning of a new creative and spiritual journey.
Treasured Pieces from the Collection...
While each icon holds a special place in my heart, "Madonna and Child" remains a profound favorite. As the first painting, its ancient essence, embellished with gold leaf, beautifully showcases the texture of the bark canvas.
"The Last Supper" stands out for its intricate detail, vividly portraying the familiar Holy Event of the first Eucharist and the moving expressions of the Apostles.
Another beloved piece is "Saint Christopher," the well-known Patron Saint of travelers, always depicted carrying the "heavy" Christ Child - ladened with a globe- across a stream, symbolizing the burden of the world.
Discover and be blessed.
I hope that visitors to my art portfolio will deeply appreciate the artistry, the vibrant colors, and the sincere intention behind each piece. My aim is for these icons to bless you and serve as a constant reminder of Our Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit. May they bring spiritual comfort and joy into your home. Explore the collection and find a piece that resonates with your spirit.
All proceeds from the sales of these religious icons will be donated to the building fund of my local church - "The Annunciation of Our Lord Catholic Church" in Decatur, Alabama. Please join me in supporting a sacred cause with every purchase. Donations are appreciated as well! Thank you!
